Company Timeline

Our Journey Through Time

From humble beginnings to industry leadership, our story spans over four decades of innovation and growth.

The Foundation

Ray Wall founded a motor trimming business in Brisbane, beginning a long partnership with Volvo's Wacol factory. Incorporated as Marnor Pty Ltd in 1979. By 1986, the company was also supplying Mack Trucks and White Trucks. It later rebranded to Comtech Automotive in 1994, continuing its growth as a trusted manufacturing partner to Australia's major vehicle OEMs.

2000–2009

Expansion & Certification

Tim Wall joined the business, driving a focus on sustainability and investment in CAD/CNC technology. The company became Comtech Automotive Industries in 2003, secured defence contracts, won Kenworth Truck supply in 2009, and achieved ISO 9001 certification.

2010–2015

Strategic Growth

Comtech expanded OEM supply to Kenworth, Custom Coaches, and Bustech, and entered the EV sector with Tritium. Tim Wall became Managing Director in 2014, leading major CNC upgrades. In 2015, the business was renamed Comtech Industries, gaining ISO 14001 certification and supplying Thales for the Hawkei program.

2016–2019

Innovation & Sustainability

The company advanced with twin-sheet thermoforming, strengthened design through Emily Juckes' leadership, and launched recycling and closed-loop initiatives. In 2019, Comtech co-developed a mining cab with Loadpro.

2020–2025

Next Generation Leadership

Despite COVID delays, Comtech expanded CNC operations in 2021, supplied CASA-certified aviation parts to Helimods in 2022, and in 2025 appointed Emily Juckes as General Manager, marking the next generation of leadership.
